Position: Senior Journalist
How long have you been with VistaComm?
Over 14 years
Where is your hometown?
Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation and me.
What is a typical day like for you at VistaComm?
There is no typical day, really. Curating content for a couple of clients is a constant. I may be on the road to gather content for a newsletter, generating content for a website, doing phone interviews, working on our own publications, dealing with my reprehensible co-workers, setting up a photo shoot. It’s fluid.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Read, watch football, help out at a tutoring center a couple of hours a week, chase storms, photography, drive long distances, various church activities.
What profession, other than your own, would you like to try?
I’ve wanted to be a railroad engineer since I was a little kid.
If you were a superhero what would your powers be?
I would have the ability to be in two or more places at one time. Think of the possibilities.
Who is your favorite fictional character?
Gandalf, Lord of the Rings
Desert Island round! If you were stranded on a desert, what would be the:
4 movies you would need?
Field of Dreams
Lord of the Rings Trilogy (counts as one)
3 albums you would need?
Jars of Clay-In the Studio, On the Stage
Led Zeppelin-Early Days and Latter Days
Best of the Four Seasons
2 books you would need?
Waking the Dead—John Eldredge
1 celebrity you would want stranded with you? And why?
Mother Teresa. I think I would need her perspective if I was stuck on an island.
What is the most interesting place you’ve visited?
Tough one. I guess the place I go back to most frequently is Yellowstone.
Name one embarrassing moment in your life.
Passed out cold delivering a sermon in a nursing home. Woke up with the EMTs bending over me. There’s more to the story. Ask me sometime.
What is your proudest VistaComm moment?
Probably doing the writing on an anniversary book for Harvest Land that won an Addy Award several years ago.
