How long have you been with VistaComm?
Where is your hometown?
Plankinton, SD (pop. 650)
What is a typical day like for you at VistaComm?
Well, every day is an adventure, especially in the technology department where things change so rapidly, but I think I can sum it up in 3 words: phone calls, emails, meetings.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my family and enjoy the Florida outdoors (beach, amusement parks).
What profession, other than your own, would you like to try?
I grew up with horses and rodeoing and always thought something that involved working with children and horses every day would be fun…maybe a kids’ horse camp!
If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?
Read people’s minds and fly. That way I know exactly what clients are thinking and traveling back to the Midwest to visit family would be much easier!
What is the most interesting place you’ve visited?
Key West. Ok, so having lived in Florida the past 5 years, I’m a little biased. However, if you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about. You could “people watch” all day on Duval Street. Plus, you’ll find yourself adjusting very quickly to the locals’ laid-back ways, while lying on the beach watching the sailboats float by with your umbrella drink in hand….ahhhhhh.
Name one embarrassing moment in your life.
Wow. So many to choose from. One that stands out is Singing the Star Spangled Banner at a rodeo and forgetting a verse. Though I don’t think many people even noticed! Or, most recently, while on a phone call with my team from my home office, I shouted “QUIET!” at my barking dog thinking my mute was on. Needless to say, I got everyone’s attention.
What is your proudest VistaComm moment?
Having been at VistaComm for 12 years, I don’t think I can name just one. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many clients and many associates, but it’s when we can all come together as a team and create a solution that everyone is excited and proud of. That is when we have achieved the greatest success, and those are the moments that make me proud to be a VC associate.
