After 35 years, I feel blessed to have found my way back home to South Dakota. There’s something to be said for experiencing life’s special moments with family. And, then, to find a home at VistaComm—another blessing! The talented, creative and responsive associates here are quickly becoming a second family. They really care about each other and their clients. It’s a positive culture—focused on engagement, growth, and service. Right where I want to be.
How long have you been with VistaComm?
Since July 2015.
Where is your hometown?
Dell Rapids, SD—How did I miss the uniqueness of this special little town when growing up?!
What is a typical day like for you at VistaComm?
Well, I like to have a Plan. I’m held hostage by my “To Do List.” But, I also like spontaneity. So, does it bother me that some days my List is totally obliterated ten minutes after walking through the door? Not at all. The work is far too exciting—addressing problems, designing solutions and interacting with a great group of talented communicators.
What do you like to do in your free time?
My 24 nieces and nephews keep me pretty busy attending athletic and educational events, and I love it. When I do get time to myself, a good book or an intriguing movie is a nice escape.
What profession, other than your own, would you like to try?
I’ve always wanted to be an architect—residential design. Once you get me going on HGTV, it’s hard to pull me away.
If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?
I’d like to be invisible, and not require sleep. Wow, think of where I could go and what I could get done!
What is the most interesting place you’ve visited?
I’ve had the privilege of visiting—even living in—some pretty amazing resort areas in this great country. My favorites are Pinehurst, NC, Pebble Beach, CA, and The American Club in Kohler, WI.
Name one embarrassing moment in your life.
Daylight Savings Time is the culprit! I can’t tell you how many times over the years I’ve shown up late for Mass on Sunday just because I forgot to spring forward or fall back!
What is your proudest VistaComm moment?
There’s nothing more gratifying in creative marketing than to have the client say, “I absolutely love it—and it’s working!” I’ve had a couple kudos lately and look forward to many more.
