With more than 30,000 attendees and 550 leading agri-businesses on hand, it was a banner year for DakotaFest, held in Mitchell, South Dakota. The farm show attracts manufacturers, vendors, and producers from all around the Midwest. On August 22, four members of our VistaComm business development and production team showed up to take in the sights and to chat with those who make the agricultural world go round.
The day was filled with learning about the newest innovations in agricultural science and technology and collecting a wide variety of fun and educational loot that each vendor offered—seed guides, hats, Frisbees, etc. The stuff was nice, but the greatest reward for our team was the opportunity to build relationships with the businesses who work so hard to serve the producers of the Great Plains and beyond.
The most memorable event of the day was watching Jenna, our managing editor, and Lisa, our business development intern, attempt to eat just one of Mustang Seed’s buffalo hot wings. Judging by their expressions, “hot wings” was an understatement.
DakotaFest is a tremendous experience for anyone who plays a role in agricultural production. At VistaComm, we’re proud to say that we are a part of that process, and we’ll be sure to be back next year.
