Two New Management Associates Join VistaComm’s Creative Services Team

VistaComm is pleased to announce the expansion of our Creative Services to include the artistic direction of two new management associates—Eric Raasch as creative director, and Nancy Schmidt as content director.

Since 2008, Eric has been the owner and creative director of MindFlame Design & Marketing in Sioux Falls. He has a 25-year, award-winning track record of creating effective, impactful marketing solutions and campaigns for companies and organizations who realize blending in is not an option in today’s crowded marketplace. Eric has put his creative experience to work for a diverse group of clients looking to build brand equity and gain market share—in healthcare, travel & tourism, agriculture, politics, financial, retail, real estate, insurance, higher education, technology and economic development.

Eric previously served as art director/creative lead at Lawrence & Schiller and brand communications manager at Pure Fishing, the world’s largest fishing tackle company, formerly located in Spirit Lake, IA. He currently volunteers his time on the marketing committee for Downtown Sioux Falls, and is a member of the Board of Directors for Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown. Eric and his family have called South Dakota home since 2005. He values the abundant hunting and outdoor recreational opportunities available in the area.

Nancy brings a broad background to her new role at VistaComm. Most recently, she served, consecutively, as strategist and senior copywriter at GlynnDevins Advertising & Marketing and Zillner Marketing Communications in Kansas City, MO. These agencies—specializing in senior living—gave her the unique opportunity to hone her storytelling skills of interviewing and sharing stories of real people in real situations. “We can learn so much from the experiences of others,” says Nancy. “There’s tremendous value in communicating through stories.”

In addition to senior living, Nancy’s industry marketing experience includes health care, hospitality, education, and professional sports marketing. Prior to focusing on advertising and communications, she worked in professional golf in Florida for the PGA Tour, and then for Jack Nicklaus as instructional programs manager and executive golf director for Nicklaus/Flick Golf Schools. In education, following her graduation from South Dakota State, Nancy taught communication arts in Mitchell, SD, and at O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, SD.

Pleased to be home after 35 years of career opportunities spanning the country, Nancy resides in Dell Rapids near eight of her 11 siblings and their families.

Both Eric’s position as creative director and Nancy’s as content director are new for VistaComm, and we look forward to extending their talents, strategic ideas and passion for service to our valued clients.
